The kitchen can be full of action and activity, but you thrive in such an environment, while working safely and following established protocols. You are a professional—knowing how much to order to stay within budget, how much to prepare based on the house count, how to keep a clean kitchen, and how to handle food safely. The Chef has a great kitchen team, and you contribute to that greatness while learning new skills and developing your expertise. In the role of Cook, you will:

  • Be Great at What You Do - If you are a Lead Cook, you are a role model in the kitchen for all other staff, have mastered your job, and can train or assist others as needed. As a Line Cook, you know how to prepare high-quality food for restaurant and/or banquet guests based on established guidelines. If a Pantry/Prep Cook, you are responsible for all cold food items, such as salads, cold appetizers, desserts, sandwiches, and salad dressings, contributing significantly to each meal. And, if a Breakfast Cook, you help our guests start their day with a hot meal and a smile.
  • Be a Team Player - Cooks are responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of food items for all outlets, maintaining professionalism and working harmoniously as a team to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Be an Organization and Cleanliness Fanatic - Keeping a work area clean and organized, following all sanitation and safe food handling procedures at every step.
  • Be a Safety & Security Agent - Following established safety and security policies and procedures, anticipating problems, and requesting management assistance as needed.

Job Requirements

Depending on the role, 1 to 5 years of prior cooking experience in a hotel kitchen or related field is preferred, with banquet, fine dining, and line experience required for certain roles. Culinary training in a college setting is preferred. Physical requirements include the ability to use various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently, stand for long periods, bend, stretch, and work under variable temperatures and noise levels. Near vision is necessary to see details at close range. Must be able to move quickly in emergencies, work long hours, multitask, and possess good communication skills in English.
