Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN license in good standing.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire.
• NRP within 6 months for Women’s Hospital employees.
• 1–2 years of progressive nursing experience (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate with nurses, physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, direct and evaluate direct and indirect nursing care in the preoperative phase.
• Advocate for patients and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams.
• Ensure adherence to Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
