Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Current registered nurse license in good standing in Texas.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS within 3 months of hire.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred; able to read/write English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, direct and evaluate direct and indirect nursing care for surgical patients.
• Provide nursing care in pre-operative phase and advocate for the patient.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, gastroenterology and other staff to ensure safe patient care.
• Adhere to Nurse Practice Act of Texas and ANA standards; participate in performance improvement.
• Document patient responses to medications and manage pre/post-operative care.
