Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse PRN to support ambulatory surgery centers. The nurse will provide total nursing care per physician orders and center policies, monitor supplies, and assist in pre-op preparation and patient transport to the OR.

The role requires an accredited nursing education, an active RN license, and BLS/ACLS certification to ensure safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced pre-op environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Assn. BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for pre-operative patients.
• Records and reports symptoms, reactions and changes to caregivers.
• Administers physician-ordered medications and treatments.
• Discharges pre-operative patients per policy.
• Reviews patient charts for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensures consent and pre-op workups are complete and reported.
• Communicates pre-operative information to OR staff.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintains supplies and equipment, reports malfunctions.
• Assists in orientation of new staff.
