Surgery Partners Brand is seeking a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse to join an ambulatory surgical setting. The role involves assessing and delivering total nursing care for pre-operative patients, following physician orders, and ensuring proper prep, consent, and OR readiness.

The RN will administer medications, coordinate with anesthesia, document findings, maintain patient privacy, and support colleagues.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare products and stock rotation procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to healthcare products.
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
• Hands-on, self-starter with ability to multi-task, detail oriented, and organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Able to bend, stoop, lift and handle supplies.
• Good interpersonal interactions with coworkers, vendors and management.
• Ability to perform data entry and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for the pre-operative patient.
• Records and reports symptoms, reactions, abnormalities and changes in patient conditions.
• Administers medications and treatments ordered by the physician.
• Cares and discharges pre-operative patients according to facility policies.
• Reviews pre-operative charts for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensures consent matches physician orders and OR schedule.
• Verifies pre-operative labs and tests are in chart; reports abnormalities to anesthesia/surgeon.
• Obtains and labels patient belongings; assists with OR dress attire.
• Completes registration and pre-operative worksheets.
• Administers pre-operative sedation.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Coordinates with OR staff and other departments.
