Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse to join our ambulatory surgical team.

You will provide total nursing care before procedures, monitor patient status, administer medications and ensure proper charting, consent, and coordination with anesthesia and surgeons. This role requires RN licensure and current BLS/ACLS certifications, with day-to-day responsibilities in a busy surgical center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse License.
• Current American Heart Assn. BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for the pre-operative patient.
• Records and reports symptoms, reactions, abnormalities and changes in patients.
• Administers medications and treatments ordered by the physician.
• Cares for and discharges pre-operative patients according to facility policies.
• Reviews the pre-operative patient’s chart for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensures consent is completed correctly and matches the physician’s order and OR schedule.
• Manages pre-operative workup documentation and communicates with anesthesia/surgeon teams.
• Maintains privacy and supports patients and families as needed.
