Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center, a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso, seeks a Registered Nurse in PreOp to support perioperative care and patient education. You will collaborate with managers and surgical staff to optimize safety, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

The role requires on-call during select non-business hours, with emphasis on patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS within 6 months of employment start date.
• RN (Registered Nurse) and Associate Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care.
• Prepare patient including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and time-out per policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care as part of the team.
• Document changes in patient condition clearly and thoroughly.
• Educate on follow-up measures for post-operative care.
