Job summary

Bay Area Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse for the Pre-op Clinic. You will coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient readiness for surgery, review clinical data, and educate patients and families about the upcoming procedures.

Responsibilities include consulting with surgeons and anesthesia, initiating discharge planning, and performing EKGs as ordered, with thorough documentation in the medical record.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current OR RN license and BLS certification.
• Demonstrates strong critical thinking and patient-teaching abilities.
• Proficient in electronic medical record documentation and care planning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interdisciplinary team to ensure patient readiness for surgery.
• Review patient status: physical parameters, labs, meds, pre-/intra-/post-op needs.
• Consult with surgeon/anesthesia to prevent delays and cancellations.
• Initiate discharge planning with patient and caregivers.
• Perform EKGs as ordered and document assessments and plan of care.
