Job summary

Banner - University Medical Center Tucson is hiring a Pre-Op/PACU RN to plan, coordinate and deliver nursing care for pre-op and post-anesthesia patients. The role spans holding and PACU units, with monitoring of vitals, pain and nausea, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

You will work a varied schedule, with on-call requirements and shift differentials. A current RN license and BLS are required, plus acute-care experience is preferred for this important role.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge needs.
• Formulate and revise a plan of care with patient/family input and medical team.
• Implement the plan through direct patient care and coordination of the health care team.
• Evaluate patient progress, teaching, and adjust the plan as needed.
• Document assessment, planning and evaluation in the patient record timely.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in unit leadership and mentoring.
• Contribute to improving patient outcomes and quality indicators.
• Supervise staff and manage workflow when required.
• Collaborate with physicians and other providers for care continuity.
