University Health KC is seeking a dedicated Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Lakewood Medical Center team in Kansas City, MO. The role spans operating room support and PACU care, delivering seamless patient transitions from pre-op through recovery with emphasis on pain management and safety.

The ideal candidate will hold a Missouri RN license, possess BCLS, ACLS within 90 days, and PALS if required by department.

Qualifications

• RN license in Missouri is required or eligible for licensure.
• BCLS certification is required and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certification if required by department; Radiology training/verification if radiology functions are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• OR: provide comprehensive care during surgeries and support surgical teams.
• PACU: monitor recovery from anesthesia, manage post-op pain, assess vitals.
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Participate in education/mentoring of nursing students and new staff.
• Contribute to committees, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
