Job summary

Manhattan Surgical Hospital in Manhattan, KS is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for Pre-Op and PACU care. You will perform pre-operative assessments, verify orders, start IVs, and provide education to patients and caregivers to ensure a smooth surgical experience.

You will monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, manage pain and nausea, and coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia teams to prepare patients for discharge.

Qualifications

• Active Kansas RN license.
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Ability to stand/walk for five hours per day.
• Ability to lift/carry 20+ pounds regularly.
• Ability to push/pull 25+ pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessments and document nursing observations.
• Verify allergies, medications, medical history, consents, and surgical site.
• Initiate IVs and administer fluids as ordered.
• Monitor patients in PACU and manage pain, nausea, and comfort.
• Provide discharge instructions and patient education.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to prepare patients.
