Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state licensure to practice in the relevant state.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification within 90 days if pediatric care is part of the scope.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and assess patient data.
• Describe disease pathophysiology relevant to perioperative care.
• Apply discharge scoring systems and transfer criteria.
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia care plans.
• Communicate patient status, manage pain, and administer meds safely.
• Protect wound integrity and tissue perfusion; monitor systems balance.
• Educate patient/family and involve them in decisions.
• Respect patient rights, privacy, and provide culturally competent care.
• Document care, delegate tasks, and ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in quality improvement and team meetings; pursue growth.

Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience
