Job summary

Orchard Park Surgery Center in Westminster, CO is seeking a Prep/PACU Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our team. The PACU nurse will implement physician orders, monitor patient condition, and provide comprehensive care as patients recover from anesthesia, with emphasis on safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring smooth turnover in the perioperative area while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CO Registered Nurse License.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• PACU/ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients emerging from anesthesia with safety and privacy.
• Implement physician orders and monitor patient condition.

Prep/PACU Registered Nurse

Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• CurrentCO Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
• ASC experience a plus
• Experience in PACU/ ICU required
• Good communication and human relations skills
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative.
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of perioperative process including knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia implications.

Hourly Range: $53- $57(based on experience)
