South Denver Surgery Center, part of United Surgical Partners International, seeks a PRN Preop/PACU RN for daytime coverage in Colorado. The role emphasizes safe, compassionate care with no weekends, nights, calls, or holidays, plus PRN options.

Under supervision, the PACU nurse will implement orders, monitor patients, assist in procedure rooms, and coordinate discharge planning. Requires CO RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and PACU/ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CO Registered Nurse License.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• ASC experience a plus.
• Experience in PACU/ ICU required.
• Good communication and human relations skills.
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative.
• Thorough knowledge of perioperative process including knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia implications.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders and maintain continuity of nursing care.
• Evaluate patient condition and ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Provide total care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient and family preparation for discharge.

*M-F daytime hours. No weekends, nights, calls, or holidays. PRN also available*

Preop/PACU Registered Nurse at South Denver Surgery Center:

Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
