Qualifications

At Somerset Ambulatory Surgical Center, we focus on offering a high-quality, service-oriented environment for your surgical procedure. Our facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Job Summary: The RN Pre-op/PACU is a Registered Nurse who provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RN Pre-op/PACU provides safe, effective, and patient-family centered care in perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Required Skills:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Current CPR, ACLS, PALS required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU or Critical Care. Experience working in an ASC is a plus.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptiveness to change, creativity, and innovation.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, with a strong knowledge base related to surgical procedures and management of surgical patients.
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.
  • Must be an excellent team player with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and physicians.
