Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a RN Pre OP PACU to join our team on a PRN basis. The role focuses on providing continuity of care, patient safety, and comfort before discharge from anesthesia/sedation in an ambulatory setting.

As a RN, you will assist physicians in the procedure rooms, maintain sterile technique, and evaluate patients to ensure readiness for discharge. BLS/ALS/PALS are required, with 1–3 years of PreOP/PACU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1–3 years of PreOP/PACU and Endoscopy experience.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS, ALS and PALS certifications.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing patient conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation and discharge preparation.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy throughout the perioperative period.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Maintain sterile technique and aseptic practices throughout patient care.
• Evaluate and plan care for patients and families in preparation for discharge.

The RN Pre OP PACU at Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

• Must have at least 1-3 years of previous experience in PreOP/PACU and Endoscopy.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
• Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
