Job summary

Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a qualified RN for the Pre OP PACU role on a PRN basis. The RN will provide continuous nursing care, monitor patient condition and safety, and assist with procedures, sedation, and sterile technique as needed.

Responsibilities include care for patients emerging from anesthesia and planning for discharge, in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Requirements include an unrestricted RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, 1–3 years in

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have at least 1–3 years of previous experience in PreOP/PACU and Endoscopy.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.

RN Pre OP PACU at Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center

The RN Pre OP PACU provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
• Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
