Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. seeks a PreOp/PACU Charge Nurse for Fish Pond Surgery Center in Texas. The role supervises Preop/PACU staff, coordinates monthly schedules, and supports education and policy updates to ensure smooth case flow.

Requirements include a Texas RN license, current CPR/ACLS/PALS, leadership experience in Pre-Op/PACU, and strong communication. Weekdays only; some early mornings and evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Nursing License.
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
• Minimum One year nursing leadership experience.
• Minimum of 2- 5 years' experience in Pre-Op/PACU.
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
• Excellent teaching skills
• Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology

Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly schedules.
• Prepare, coordinate and perform monthly staff meetings
• Communicate effectively with physicians to resolve issues and provide efficiency and smooth case flow.
• Assists with education by coordinating and/or giving in-services.
• Prepare schedules in the afternoon for next day.
• Communicate with vendors and representatives for supplies, equipment or instruments
• Works closely with Materials and Sterile Processing Dept to coordinate supplies & instrument needs.
• Preparing and administering annual evaluations
• Works closely with manager with hiring and orienting Preop/PACU staff members
• Helps in revising and preparing policies that relate to Preop/PACU functions
• Assistance in maintaining compliance for Joint Commission surveys
• Enters company data collections and observations with company EDGE
• MIDAS data entry.
• Enters data into Kronos time keeping program
• Assistance with staff counseling as necessary
• Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.

Welcome to Fish Pond Surgery Center We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Plastics, Podiatry, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
