Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc is seeking a motivated Full-Time RN PreOp for its Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village in Houston, TX. The role involves preoperative assessments, patient education, and collaboration with surgical teams to ensure safe transitions of care.

The position requires 1–3 years of PreOP/PACU experience, an unrestricted Texas RN license, and active BLS/ACLS/PALS. Schedule is weekdays only, with no holidays, weekends, or on-call obligations.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state (unrestricted).
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1–3 years' experience in PreOP/PACU.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, including medical history, vital signs, and patient education.
• Review and verify patient documentation, consents, and lab results.
• Administer preoperative medications as ordered and monitor patient response.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding the surgical process.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff for smooth transitions of care.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village is seeking a motivated Full-Time RN PreOp to join our team. We have 8 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colon Rectal, Neurological, GYN, Oculoplastic, Orthopedic, ENT, Pain Management, Podiatry, General, Plastic & Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, including medical history, vital signs, and patient education.
• Review and verify patient documentation, consents, and lab results.
• Administer preoperative medications as ordered and monitor patient response.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding the surgical process.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Document all patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Assist in maintaining a safe, efficient, and supportive pre-op environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
• Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
