Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Surgical Birth Scrub Assistant to support C/S deliveries and labor & delivery care. You will maintain sterile technique, prepare the operating room, and assist the surgical team throughout the procedure under RN direction.

The role requires completing specific birthing room procedures, stocking and organizing supplies, and ensuring accurate logs and communications with the health team. A strong team player is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of birthplace operating room techniques.
• Basic Cardiac Support Certification required.
• Completion of MAH Annual Safety Program required.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Birth — Direct assistance to the surgical team during delivery.
• Assist with preparing C/S room and equipment per policy.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout cases and handle instruments.
• Assist with prepping and draping according to procedure and anticipate team needs.
• Support Labor & Delivery setup, stocking rooms, and transport equipment.
• Record and communicate birth and admission logs; coordinate with team during shifts.
