Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified 1 Cert Surg Tech (CST) required; Certificate 2 Basic Life Support required.
• Graduate of an accredited education program for surgical technologists or completed US Military/Public Health Service training.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains a sterile field.
• Monitors sterile technique in all areas of practice.
• Assists surgeon with retractors, sponging, suctioning, suturing, and draping.
• Manages supplies, equipment and environmental support in a cost-effective manner.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization and assists in instrument counting.
