Job summary

Saint Peter’s Healthcare System is seeking a Scrub Assistant for Labor-Delivery to support intraoperative care. You will scrub for general surgeries, prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, and assist with care and maintenance of surgical supplies in alignment with the Plan of Care.

The role requires graduation from a surgical tech program or nursing program, on-call ability under RN direction, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technical Program, an accredited Practical School of Nursing, equivalent training or orientation completion.
• Ability to work on call under direction of the RN.
• BLS administration required.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Scrub Assistant during general surgeries.
• Set up Operating Rooms with sterile instruments and surgical supplies.
• Assist with the care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and unsterile equipment, instruments and supplies.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice to ensure implementation of the Plan of Care and communicating information pertinent to the patient's status to Registered Nurse.
