Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health’s AMG Womens Center Green Bay – Imaging Services seeks a part-time Medical Sonographer. The role performs obstetric and pelvic ultrasounds, including genetic studies and specialized procedures, with emphasis on patient history review and high-quality imaging.

Responsibilities include equipment calibration, QA participation, and training of students and residents. Requires ARDMS registrations within set timeframes and BLS within 6 months. On-site position in Green Bay area.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis.
• Proficient in scanning multiple anatomical areas and distinguishing normal from abnormal to evaluate sonograms.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills with physicians, patients and staff.
• Basic computer proficiency (email, EMR).

Responsibilities

• Performs obstetric and pelvic ultrasound procedures including genetic sonograms and specialized studies.
• Selects transducers and technical factors; utilizes Doppler, color imaging, and M-mode as needed.
• Reviews patient records and physician orders; obtains history data through patient communication.
• Calibrates and maintains ultrasound equipment; evaluates new products for future use.
• Participates in department QA studies and documents billing codes for charges.
• Instructs sonography students and residents during procedures.
• Handles patient positioning and transport; applies proper lifting techniques.
• Provides age-appropriate care based on department policies and patient age.
