Job summary

Springfield Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for premium per diem shifts in Vermont. The role requires adherence to the Nursing Practice standards, utilization of the Nursing Process, and compliance with state and federal healthcare laws.

Candidates should hold an ADN or BSN and an active RN license, with BLS and ACLS required and PALS preferred. Ideal applicants have strong communication skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and comfort with technology-enabled care

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or compact state RN license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred)
• Basic Dysrhythmia
• De-escalation Training (Required completion at first course offering after hire)
• Procedural Sedation skills (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Aseptic technique (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Six (6) months of nursing experience is desirable for specialty areas
• Nursing Care Knowledge through the lifespan
• Effective people skills and communication
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office products
• Proficiency in the use of technology in care delivery

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients following the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, within the framework of the Department of Nursing, and in conjunction with Specialty-Specific Standards of Patient Care.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to make nursing judgments and assumes responsibilities for nursing care and documentation to include delegation of work to other levels of employees.
• Ensure practice meets compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.
