Position Summary

The Premium Cook is responsible for preparing foods to be served to guests within all premium areas of the ballpark. The Premium Cook will often have direct contact with the public working in areas such as a buffet line slicing meats or preparing dishes to order. The Premium Cook must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00-$27.00.

About the Venue

Polar Park is a baseball park in Worcester, Massachusetts, serving as the home of the Worcester Red Sox, a Minor League Baseball team competing at the Triple-A level and an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Opened for the 2021 Triple-A season, it has a seating capacity of 9,508 people.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests.
• Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements.
• Participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation, service, and delivery of products.
• Report any maintenance required for kitchen equipment.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery to guests.
• Consult with Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate food consumption.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance as per company standards.

Qualifications

• Previous cook or prep cook experience.
• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife.
• Effective communication skills with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven environment.
• Valid food handling certificate if required by regulations.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
