Job summary

The Goddard School of West Chester (Village of Marshallton), PA is seeking a motivated Prekindergarten Teacher to join our caring team. You will work with another experienced Teacher to create engaging programs, manage the classroom, and ensure a safe, stimulating environment for young learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred.
• Experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision and can lift up to 50 lbs while caring for children.
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state education/credential requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.

Lead Teacher Key Responsibilities

Curriculum and Instruction

• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
• Foster a love of learning through creative and engaging teaching methods
• Observe and assess children's development and adjust activities accordingly

Classroom Management

• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage daily routines and transitions smoothly
• Address behavioral issues with positive guidance and support

Family Communication

• Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and daily activities
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates
• Encourage family involvement and participation in school activities

Health and Safety

• Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and common areas
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being

Professional Development

• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
