The Goddard School of West Chester (Village of Marshallton), PA is seeking a motivated and caring Prekindergarten Assistant Teacher. You will support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs, managing the classroom and ensuring a safe, stimulating environment for young learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience in licensed childcare or preschool settings

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, inviting learning environment
• Supervise children and provide individualized support to foster a sense of belonging
• Communicate with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations
• Support daily care routines to promote a nurturing learning environment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
