Job summary

The Goddard School in West Chester, PA is seeking a motivated and caring Lead Teacher for the Prekindergarten program. You will collaborate with another experienced teacher to plan engaging lessons, manage the classroom, and ensure a safe, stimulating environment for young learners.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; an associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is expected.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in relation to child handling.
• Demonstrates empathy and compassion for children.

Lead Teacher Key Responsibilities

Curriculum and Instruction

Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities

Foster a love of learning through creative and engaging teaching methods

Family Communication

Encourage family involvement and participation in school activities

Health and Safety

Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and common areas

Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being

Professional Development

Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities

Stay current with best practices in early childhood education

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas and strategies

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements

Our ideal candidate can work 8:30am or 9am to 5:30pm or 6pm.
