Position Summary: Responsible for planning, teaching, assessing, and managing students in an assigned class, including managing the classroom environment. This is a school-year position: August through June.

FLSA: Full-Time; Exempt

All Water Street Mission Staff Must Be:

• Willing to sign the Water Street Mission Statement of Faith.
• Current member or regular attendee of a local church.
• Support the core values and philosophy of Water Street Mission.
• Share the gospel of Jesus Christ with children and parents when opportunities arise.
• Implement and maintain approved programs and lesson plans across developmental areas: spiritual, academic, social, physical, creative, and emotional.
• Manage the classroom and other areas to ensure a safe, respectful, clean, and conducive learning environment.
• Assess students' progress throughout the year, documenting achievements for parent communication.
• Schedule and conduct parent-teacher conferences twice annually.
• Maintain daily attendance and skills checklists for students.
• Ensure proper inventory, ordering, use, and storage of tools and materials.
• Assist in planning weekly chapel, newsletters, calendars, and family activities.
• Communicate promptly with parents and the Director regarding student and program matters.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure children's safety and well-being.
• Model Christ-centered relationships with staff, children, and parents.
• Oversee volunteers in the classroom.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

• Stand, walk, or sit continuously.
• Use fine motor skills continuously.
• Bend, squat, kneel, and reach occasionally.
• Lift/move up to 35 pounds occasionally.
