Job summary

Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking a PreK paraeducator to support student learning under the supervision of a teacher in the early childhood classroom. This role involves assisting with activities, preparing instructional materials, and helping with daily routines.

You will reinforce learning, help students with self-help skills, and monitor safety during transitions and activities. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential for success.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Forty-eight college credits or equivalent.
• ParaPro Assessment with passing score (455+) before 9/1/2026.
• ParaPathways: Reading/Writing 332 & Math 334 passing.
• Foundations of Classroom Support minimum passing 220.
• Associates degree or CDA certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets students and assists with arrival activities and breakfast.
• Assists students individually or in groups to reinforce learning and supports teacher-led activities.
• Helps students with self-help skills and participates in safe classroom routines.
• Reinforces concepts and extends vocabulary using varied strategies.
• Assists in material preparation, setup, and maintenance of classroom displays.
• Performs administrative tasks such as attendance and collecting assignments.
