Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a paraeducator to support prekindergarten students at Takoma Park Elementary School. You will assist with instructional activities, promote school readiness, and help maintain a constructive classroom environment.

The position is part-time (0.875 FTE, 70 hours bi-weekly) for 10 months. Requires an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and relevant coursework or experience, with ParaPro assessment passed or achievable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and instructional goals applicable to early learning.
• Ability to assist with instructional programs and behavior monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; patient with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the instructional program and activities.
• Provide classroom management support and student supervision.
• Perform related clerical tasks to support teachers and staff.
• Support students aged three to five with learning and wellbeing.
