Job summary

AbbVie Analytical Research & Development (Analytical R&D) seeks an Associate Scientist II to generate precise, reliable data and contribute to degradation pathway and stability understanding of drug substances and products.

In a cross-functional environment, you will collaborate with Pre-Clinical Safety, Process Chemistry, Process Engineering and Quality Assurance to support early phase development of NCEs in both preclinical and clinical programs, while adhering to GMP and GxP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or analytical chemistry with typically 3+ years’ experience or Master’s degree or equivalent education.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge in chromatography or spectroscopy.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC including testing, basic troubleshooting, and method optimization.
• Basic knowledge of organic chemistry related to degradation pathways.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and perform routine tasks and generate precise, reliable results.
• Demonstrate experimental precision and data interpretation.
• Document experimental activities in GMP-compliant fashion using electronic data systems.
• Analyze and critique results, noting deviations.
• Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
• Learn new techniques and apply them to project requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in analytical techniques and contribute to innovation.
