AbbVie Analytical Research & Development (Analytical R&D) is a global organization responsible for all CMC analytical activities related to AbbVie’s pharmaceutical products. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or analytical chemistry with typically 3+ years’ experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge in chromatography and/or spectroscopy is highly preferred to carry out job function.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC including testing, basic troubleshooting, and method optimization
• Basic knowledge of organic chemistry related to degradation pathways
• Strong organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail
• Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functional partners to enable higher performance
• Learns fast and adapts to changing project needs
• Creates a learning environment open to experimentation for improvement

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and perform routine tasks competently within a timely fashion and generate precise, reliable results.
• Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills; understand core discipline.
• Document experimental activities and results in a GMP compliant fashion using electronic data systems.
• Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations from expected outcomes.
• Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
• Learn and apply new techniques for unique project requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in multiple techniques and modify protocols as needed for changing research needs.
• Place data in proper scientific context by citing relevant literature.
