Job summary

Harmon, Inc. seeks a dynamic preconstruction sales leader to drive the bidding process and secure profitable projects. You will manage budgets, estimates and client proposals while coordinating with finance, estimating, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to maximize bid success.

Build strong relationships with general contractors, owners, architects, and consultants; lead regional business development and travel as required to pursue award opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Sales and Marketing, Business or related degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in project management, engineering or sales with a curtain wall subcontractor or manufacturer; curtain wall and/or glazing experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preconstruction sales effort and drive business development in your market region.
  • Manage bid procurement and ensure alignment across finance, estimating, engineering, manufacturing, operations and management.
  • Execute budgets, bid estimates and sales proposals; track and report opportunities to management.
  • Develop relationships with core general contractor customers, owners, architects and consultants.
  • Oversee regional marketing and vendor relationships; travel 20-30% as needed.

Job description

Harmon, Inc. Leading the project sales effort You ensure Harmon meets its sales goals by delivering superior bid execution through partnership with the operating unit General Managers and Preconstruction Services support team. You develop key client relationships, driving value by supporting their preconstruction activities through the sales lifecycle, including consulting on product selection, system design, project schedules, budgeting and executing client proposal requests.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Your top priority is to lead the preconstruction sales effort.

  • Leverage critical thinking, analytical abilities and business acumen in this hands-on role to deliver sales at acceptable levels of profitability
  • Drive business development activities within your market region
  • Manage the bid procurement process by ensuring clarity and alignment across all functional departments including finance, estimating, engineering, manufacturing, operations and management
  • Execute budgets, bid estimates and sales proposals
  • Track and update management on sales opportunities regularly
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning Achieve target revenue to meet local and national financial commitments Update job tracker with projected revenue cash flows Resource Planning Develop project resource plan Maintain project resource plan Maintain current schedule information Key Relationships Develop relationships with a select group of core general contractor customers Develop relationships with a select group of owners, architects and consultants Manage regional business development Pursuing Project Awards Be globally responsible for all preconstruction activities Completely understand and validate the bid execution plan and sales strategy Communicate up and down stream Maintain ownership of bid collaborative process Comply with all estimate recap protocols Maintain ownership of client presentations Contract Review Manage contract scope Communicate Harmon's legal position Communication and Collaboration Maintain regional vendor contact list Report and update management Coordinate regional marketing Professional Development Keep up to date with current façade trends Additional Responsibilities Continuous Improvement 20-30% Travel Required

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Sales and Marketing, Business or related degree from a college or a university Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in project management, engineering or sales with a curtain wall subcontractor or manufacturer; or equivalent combination of education and experience Curtain wall and/or glazing experience required

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: $145,000/yr.-$170,000/yr. #LI-JD1
