Job summary

Clayco is seeking a delivery-governance leader to own the Precon OS engagement, directing vendor delivery and validating scope to deliver a production-ready MVP. You will govern validation, manage scope and sequencing, and close open decisions across multiple teams while reporting risks and budget to executives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering software with 3+ years leading multi-workstream programs with an external development vendor.
• Governing complex enterprise apps through discovery, build, UAT and cutover including commercial oversight (SOW, change control, milestone acceptance).
• Comfortable with a modern engineering stack at the level needed to challenge a vendor: Python/FastAPI, React/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Azure, CI/CD and database migrations.
• Strong requirements and traceability discipline; able to turn acceptance criteria into evidence and say no to one when it is not.
• Experience running decision logs and driving unresolved decisions to closure with senior stakeholders.
• Clear, direct communicator who can brief executives and estimators equally well.
• Background in construction, preconstruction estimating, cost data management or other financially rigorous domains.
• Exposure to .NET, SQL Server and SignalR applications, or data-source migrations with a rollback plan.
• Familiarity with RBAC and identity (Okta, Auth0, Azure AD), API productization (OpenAPI) and ERP or estimating integrations (e.g., Procore, JDE).
• PMP, PgMP, SAFe or equivalent certification; experience in Asana or similar work-management tools.
• Experience taking over or rescuing a partially built internal application.

Responsibilities

• Run the vendor engagement with plan, cadence, RAID log and status reporting; ensure Definition of Done with traceable requirements and approved evidence.
• Govern the validation phase (WP-0) and re-baseline scope, price and schedule against actual findings.
• Manage scope and sequencing; enforce in-scope/out-of-scope boundaries and dependencies.
• Close open decisions; maintain decision registers with recommendations and deadlines.
• Own acceptance and quality gates; manage traceability matrix and gates for parity and reconciliation.
• Orchestrate UAT, beta and cutover; coordinate training and cutover activities, lead final acceptance run.
• Clear Clayco-side dependencies; stand up staging/production, provision access, settle deploy paths.
• Coordinate across teams and stakeholders; report risk, scope change and budget to executives.
• Manage budget and commercials; track spend against packages and approve invoices.
• Secure handover; ensure architecture, API, runbook and admin documentation are delivered.
