Wyre AI is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager in the USA to bridge real-world preconstruction workflows with AI tooling. You will oversee estimating, bid management, takeoffs, scheduling, and owner/GC coordination, ensuring alignment with product directions and field needs.

You’ll validate AI outputs, shape roadmaps, and partner with product, engineering, and sales to drive adoption among preconstruction teams, estimators, and directors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in preconstruction, estimating, or construction operations.
• Deep fluency across scoping, bid management, takeoffs, cost estimating and value engineering.
• Strong command of drawings, specs, addenda, RFIs, and change orders.
• Familiarity with the preconstruction software ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Validate outputs against real preconstruction standards as the SME for product and AI.
• Map end-to-end workflows into structured requirements for the product team.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Preconstruction Manager to serve as our in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME), embedded across Product and Operations. You’ll be the bridge between real-world preconstruction workflows — estimating, bid management, takeoffs, scheduling, and owner/GC coordination — and the AI systems we’re building to automate them. This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role: you’ll validate product decisions against how preconstruction actually runs in the field, shape the roadmap, and help our engineering and AI teams build tools that preconstruction professionals will trust and adopt.

Key Responsibilities

• Product & AI Validation: Act as the ground-truth SME for our document intelligence and AI products, reviewing outputs for accuracy against real preconstruction standards and practices.
• Workflow Mapping: Document and translate end‑to‑end preconstruction workflows into structured requirements for the product team.
• Domain Expertise on Demand: Serve as the go‑to internal expert on construction documents (drawings, specs, addenda, RFIs) and how preconstruction teams interpret and act on them.
• Customer & Field Voice: Partner with Sales and Customer Success to speak credibly with preconstruction leaders, precon directors, and estimators during the sales cycle and post‑sale onboarding.
• Roadmap Input: Collaborate directly with the Founder and Product team to prioritize features that reflect real preconstruction pain points.
• Quality & Accuracy Bar: Define what “correct” looks like for AI‑generated results and help build evaluation frameworks around that bar.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work alongside engineering, AI, design, and go‑to‑market teams as the construction‑industry anchor in the room.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Preconstruction Expertise

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in preconstruction, estimating, or construction operations at a GC, CM, or owner’s rep
• Deep fluency in the preconstruction lifecycle: scoping and bid management, quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, value engineering, and subcontractor buyout
• Strong command of construction documents — drawings, specifications, addenda, RFIs, and change orders
• Familiarity with the precon software eco‑system.

Product & Cross-Functional Fluency

• Nice to have – Experience partnering with product or technology teams to translate field workflows into software requirements
• Comfort evaluating AI or software outputs for domain accuracy, even without a technical background
• Ability to communicate complex construction concepts clearly to engineers, designers, and non‑industry stakeholders
