Job summary

F.A. Wilhelm Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to guide projects from inception through turnover to Operations, coordinating with internal teams and clients to ensure commitments are met and communicated.

You will direct the estimating team, develop cost models, prepare bid packages, review trade contracts, and manage the transition from preconstruction to field. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field and a minimum of 5

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the assigned estimating team to assemble the estimate (including general and special conditions) and assure the estimates are accurate, complete, and address the actual requirements of the project
• Create and analyze cost models/forecasts during the design development and/or bidding period, consult and advise on findings with the client and construction team
• Prepare bid packages for all scopes of work, obtain, and assess bids from subcontractors and equipment/material vendors
• Coordinate the assembly of preconstruction material for presentation purposes to the owner and engineers – design development estimates, GMP booklets, etc.
• Lead the preparation and review of trade contracts, subcontracts, and major purchase orders, checking for compliance with construction documents and the estimate
• Coordinate the project's transition from preconstruction to field operations, verify the status of estimates versus actual project status, view work in place for experience and comparison to the estimate
