Job summary

Layton Construction in Honolulu, HI seeks a Pre-construction Manager to lead pre-construction activities for the SBU, driving predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers. You will oversee estimating, planning support, and cost control while coordinating with marketing and executives.

The role requires a BS in Construction Management or related field with at least five years of construction experience, strong analytical, communication and PC skills, and CMiC/estimating

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management or related field or equivalent.
• Five years of construction-related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business/technical material and regulations.
• Ability to write reports, correspondence and procedures.
• Ability to present information clearly to groups of stakeholders.
• Proficient computer skills including email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets.
• Experience with CMiC preferred; knowledge of estimating software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities for the SBU and ensure predictable outcomes.
• Provide leadership for estimating and planning support personnel.
• Monitor budgeting, buy-out processes and cost history to improve estimates.
• Facilitate communication with marketing and brand recognition for proposals.
• Oversee sales activity, procurement strategies and client relationships.
• Plan training for estimators and business development professionals.
• Interface with executives, estimating, planning support, and clients.
• Identify profitable projects and oversee related business development activities.
