Job summary

Trueline seeks an Estimator/Project Coordinator to join our team in Shreveport, LA. The role supports all preconstruction phases, including evaluation, estimating, scope development, subcontractor coordination, and proposal preparation.

It acts as a bridge among estimating, operations, PM, and field teams for well-planned projects. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in construction estimating or preconstruction, a CM-related degree, and strong skills in reading drawings, takeoffs, and software

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction estimating or preconstruction.
• Bachelor/degree in CM or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost estimation.
• Knowledge of commercial construction processes.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience using PDF markup software (Adobe Acrobat).
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Detail-oriented and coachable with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimating from plans and specs.
• Conduct pre-bid site visits and condition assessments.
• Develop project scopes of work.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate subcontractor walkthroughs and bid meetings.
• Prepare accurate and competitive project proposals.
• Assist in budgeting and value engineering efforts.
• Review drawings, specs and contract documents.
• Prepare and organize project plans and preconstruction docs.
• Develop and maintain project records and documentation systems.
• Submittal prep and product sample coordination.
• Coordinate with operations and project management during turnover.
• Support field personnel with project information and docs.
• Assist with planning and scheduling activities.
• Participate in internal project review meetings.
• Maintain organized project files and records.
