Job summary

Trueline is seeking a Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator to join the onsite team in Shreveport, LA. You will gain exposure to estimating, project planning, subcontractor coordination, and field operations while developing a long-term career with a stable contractor.

The role supports preconstruction activities, reviews drawings, performs takeoffs, coordinates bids, and assists with planning and submittals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent commercial construction experience.
• Foundational understanding of commercial construction methods and sequencing.
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
• Construction takeoff experience through employment, internships, co-ops, or coursework.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Coachable, dependable, and eager to learn.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial projects throughout the preconstruction process
• Conduct pre-bid site visits and gather information needed to develop project scopes
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimates
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers
• Coordinate subcontractor walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings
• Compare bids and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and pricing differences
• Prepare proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and construction logistics
• Mark up drawings and organize preconstruction information
• Prepare submittals, product data, and material samples
• Maintain organized project records, files, and bid documentation
• Coordinate with Project Managers, field leaders, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Provide field support during project planning and construction when needed
• Assist Project Managers with subcontract processing and material orders
• Support RFIs, permits, change orders, and general project documentation
• Help ensure a smooth handoff from preconstruction to field operations
