Job summary

Trueline is seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator / Preconstruction Coordinator to take ownership of estimating and preconstruction for the growing commercial division. The role offers high visibility, direct access to ownership, and a clear path toward leadership.

Responsibilities include overseeing bid process from invitation through turnover, reviewing plans and specs, conducting detailed HVAC takeoffs, and preparing competitive estimates.

Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC estimating experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs and addenda.
• Hands-on takeoff experience for HVAC systems.
• Experience developing labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Familiarity with vendor and manufacturer pricing.
• Understanding RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial HVAC estimating and preconstruction from bid to turnover.
• Review plans, specs, addenda, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed takeoffs for HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls.
• Develop labor budgets, material pricing, and equipment costs.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and coordination issues.
• Prepare and submit complete, competitive estimates.
• Manage bid calendars and invitations.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
• Communicate with General Contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Prepare submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
