Job summary

gpac is seeking an Estimator for a design-build General Contractor in Milwaukee, WI. This role involves early involvement in projects and collaboration with a cross-disciplinary team on diverse commercial work.

Responsibilities include preparing estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid evaluation, and supporting budgeting, VE, and constructability reviews throughout preconstruction to handoff. Growth with a reputable contractor is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience.
• General Contractor experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with conceptual estimating and design-build projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual through final estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Work closely with project management, field, design, and ownership teams throughout preconstruction.
• Assist with budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost analysis.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Participate in project handoffs from preconstruction into operations.
