Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer Intern for a summer program (May–August) in Minneapolis. You will join the project team to learn construction industry processes, policies, and Ryan business practices.

You will assist with budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders while gaining hands-on exposure to job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control, and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field.
• Able to work 40 hours a week.

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Preconstruction Engineer Intern! This position is available as a summer internship (from May-August).

Some Things You Can Expect To Do:

• Assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies.
• Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
• Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.

To Succeed In This Role, You Must Have:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Construction Engineering/Management or closely-related field
• Able to work 40 hours a week

You Will Really Standout If You:

• At least one summer of construction work experience
• Have a general knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods
• Can perform mathematical calculations
• Can read and understand contracts, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Eligibility:

Compensation:

The hourly base pay range is $20 - $25 per hour. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or incentive program.
