Job summary
Gilbane Building is seeking a Preconstruction Director in Pittsburgh to lead preconstruction and design phase services for all projects within a Division. You will coach and develop teams, align with executive leadership, and drive strategic initiatives to improve outcomes and margins.
This executive role requires extensive experience in operations, procurement, estimating, scheduling, or supply chain management within the construction or A/E sectors, including multiple delivery methods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar technical field.
- Experience leading operations, procurement, estimating, scheduling, or supply chain management teams (10–15+ years).
- 5–10 years in construction management or A/E industry; knowledge of multiple project delivery types (CMR, DB, IPD).
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Division's preconstruction and support operations teams.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation for the division.
- Partner with business development to align with sales strategies and client plans.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, high-performing work environment.
