Job summary

American West Construction is seeking a highly organized Preconstruction Coordinator to support our estimating and preconstruction teams in the pursuit and development of heavy civil construction projects.

This role coordinates bid opportunities, manages proposal and qualification packages, supports estimating activities, and ensures successful preconstruction from opportunity identification through project award.

Qualifications

• Degree preferred in construction management, engineering, business or related field.
• Experience in construction, estimating, project coordination, administration or related fields preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track bidding opportunities for public and private work.
• Download, organize, and distribute plans, specs, addenda, and bid docs.
• Maintain bid calendars and proposal schedules.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of bids and qualifications.
• Assemble qualification statements, resumes, project profiles, and supporting docs.
• Ensure all proposal deliverables are complete and on time.
• Assist estimators with takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, and bid solicitations.
• Maintain subcontractor and supplier databases and quotes.
• Organize estimate files and maintain historical cost information.
• Prepare bid tabs, estimate summaries, and project handoff documents.
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings and maintain notes and actions.
• Assist in preparing OPCCs, GMP docs, and value engineering reports.
• Support document management and tracking of preconstruction deliverables.
• Maintain project records and electronic filing systems.
• Coordinate internal pursuit meetings and prepare correspondence and materials.
• Assist with contract, insurance, bonding, and prequalification docs.
• Support estimating and project management software systems.
