Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking a Welding Engineer to own welding processes used to manufacture precision components and assemblies. You will develop repeatable joining methods, resolve production challenges, and partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity, productivity, and product performance.

Responsibilities include developing welding procedures, evaluating materials and joint designs, supporting weld qualification activities, and training production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate clear corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint prep, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements that reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while supporting safe operations.
