Job summary

Accounting Search represents a client in Buffalo, NY seeking a Welding Engineer to own welding processes for precision components and driving repeatable joining methods. You will develop and optimize welding procedures, evaluate materials and joint designs, and support qualification activities to ensure compliant, high‑quality production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, drawings, weld symbols, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate corrective actions with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint prep, tooling, and fixturing.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability for reliable production.
• Support qualification activities and maintain technical records per customer and industry requirements.
• Investigate weld defects, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and transfer of new products.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions and process controls.
• Evaluate equipment and process improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while ensuring safety.
