Job summary

Staffmark Group in Buffalo Grove, IL is seeking a Welder to join the day shift team. The role involves fabricating and welding metal components to exact specifications, supporting safe and efficient manufacturing and production operations.

Typical duties include MIG, TIG, arc and gas welding, reading blueprints, and performing related fabrication tasks while adhering to safety standards. Minimum 6 months to 1 year welding experience preferred; NIMS certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Welding Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of technical training, education, and hands‑on welding experience will be considered.
• NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, arc welding, gas welding, and brazing to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components.
• Position, align, and clamp fabricated parts prior to welding operations.
• Repair cracked, worn, or damaged components; fill holes and restore metal surfaces to required specifications.
• Operate thermal cutting, grinding, and related fabrication equipment.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with production requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads and other equipment components.
• Support production goals by completing additional duties as assigned, with training provided when needed.
