Job summary

Granite State Manufacturing in New Hampshire specializes in large-format CNC machining, heavy fabrication and welding for complex, high-tolerance components. This role performs welding from sheet to heavy plate, using Tig, Mig, stick and occasional brazing, with close collaboration across manufacturing, quality control, and engineering to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of military specifications or AWS specifications.
• Understands basic manufacturing principles and straightening.
• Understands workmanship requirements and can pass tests with training.
• Reads weld symbols and prints; GD&T/Datums understanding helps.
• Knowledge of NDT and related processes; Level II interpretation helpful.
• Can fixture weldments and operate GTA, GMA & SMA processes.
• Welder qualification tests must be passable with minimal assistance.
• Ability to access export-controlled information as required.

Responsibilities

• Interprets blueprints, weld symbols, machining requirements, and datums to weld and fixture.
• Works with manufacturing, quality control, and engineering to resolve weld-related issues.
• Maintains safe, clean work environment and follows safety practices.
• Creates tooling and fixtures for new jobs and program management assistance.
• Abides by GSM ethics and export-control regulations.
