Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years CNC waterjet, laser, or plasma cutting experience preferred; OMAX experience is a strong plus.
• Experience operating horizontal and/or vertical band saws in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape, squares) and shop math.
• Basic computer skills; experience entering labor and transactions in an ERP or shop-floor system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Waterjet Operation: Set up and run the OMAX waterjet; load and select the correct program; set material type and thickness; establish origin; verify cut quality.
• Waterjet Upkeep: Monitor abrasive supply and flow, nozzle condition, pump pressure, and water level; perform daily checks and PM log.
• Sawing: Cut material to length on the saws per work order; select blade, speed, and feed; manage remnants and deburr.
• Inspection to Print: Read drawings and tolerances; perform first-piece and in-process inspection with basic gauges.
• Work Order Labor: Clock in/out accurately for labor hours.
• Transactions: Report quantities completed and complete ERP transactions.
• Scrap & Nonconformance: Report scrap with quantity and reason; notify managers.
• Inventory Accuracy: Verify material quantities issued and remaining; label remnants.
• Material Handling: Load/unload stock with crane or forklift and stage parts.
• Safety & 5S: Follow safety procedures; keep area clean and organized.
• Communication: Report issues and risks to Production Manager; update during handoffs.
• Continuous Improvement: Suggest setup time, nesting, and flow improvements.
